Municipal Water Projects
• Wilmington Water District, Wilmington, VT; complete water system upgrade. Feasibility, preliminary and final engineering, permitting, state and federal funding, permitting, and construction management for 3.2 million dollar upgrade of complete water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution system, 120,000 gpd system. Project accomplished with state and federal loans and grants, six separate contracts.
• Danby/Mount Tabor Fire District #1, Danby, VT; water system upgrade. Preliminary planning and report, final design, construction assistance and inspection for 3 million dollar upgrade project with state and federal funding. Complete water system replacement accomplished with state and federal loans and grants; involving several miles of water lines, new storage tank, treatment and control facilities, supply; completed in 1995.
• South Royalton Fire District #1, South Royalton, VT; engineer for preliminary and final design to upgrade water system serving the Village of South Royalton. This included a study of source, treatment and storage alternatives, final design, contract documents, and assistance with bidding phase. Municipal Sewage Projects
• North Branch Fire District #1, West Dover, VT; design and construction management of upgrade for 880,000 gpd wastewater treatment plant. Design of three miles of sewer line extensions plus reviews with Vermont EED and EPA, and upgrade of spray irrigation disposal system.
• Magic Mountain, Londonderry, VT; 35,000 wastewater lagoon treatment plant plus new spray irrigation disposal system for same.
Ski Areas
• Glen Run, West Dover, VT (Present). This is a 36-unit residential project at the base of Carinthia Ski Area in West Dover, originally designed, with Harrington Engineering, Inc. being the original Engineer of Record. The system consists of groundwater supplies, treatment and chlorination, storage and distribution. During 2008 Harrington Engineering, Inc. assisted the owner and operator to upgrade the system and bring it into compliance, due to MPA problems with the well, and treatment being required. We also updated the O&M Manual and Source Protection Plan.
• Haystack Ski Area, Wilmington, VT. All civil engineering and design for major renovations, 450 unit vacation home project, snowmaking system, feasibility, preliminary and final design, prime consultant for permitting.
• Mount Ascutney Ski Area, Brownsville, VT; 200,000 gpd tertiary treatment plant. Phased treatment potential with aerated lagoons and mechanical treatment equipment. Land application by spray irrigation and subsurface disposal.
• Mount Snow Ski Area, West Dover, VT. All engineering services since 1982, including water and sewer utilities, permits, snowmaking ponds, storm drainage, erosion control, and mapping. Recently completed upgraded water system.
• Tenney Mountain Ski Area, Plymouth, NH; 48-unit condominium development plus snowmaking. Prepared all plans and secured all permits for water, wastewater, storm drainage, erosion control, and snowmaking. On-site water and sewer for 20,000 gpd system.
Subdivisions and Residential Developments
• 62 Unit Affordable Housing Project, Brandon, VT. Prepared plans and specifications, performed reviews with local and state officials for wetlands, water and sewer, drainage, electrical, and other engineering aspects of the project. Prepared all site layout and grading plans plus engineering plans and specifications in preparation for local and Act 250 review process.
• Greenspring Development, West Dover, VT; 180-unit condominium development. Responsible for all water, sewer and other civil engineering work.
• Kingswood Development, West Dover, VT; near Mount Snow Ski Area, 170-unit condominium development. Acted as prime consultant in obtaining all local and state permits, responsible for all aspects of engineering, hydrogeological, survey, traffic, and landscape, plus permitting.
• Outlook at Mount Snow, West Dover, VT; 45-unit townhouse condominium project at base of Mount Snow Ski Area. All civil engineering work, prime consultant for all local and state permits, feasibility, preliminary and final design, prime consultant for permitting.
• Partridge Run Development, West Dover, VT; 60-unit townhouse condominium project. All civil engineering work, prime consultant for all local and state permits, feasibility, preliminary and final design, prime consultant for permitting.
• Pico Slopeside 105 Unit Condominium Project, Sherburne, VT; accomplished all plans and specifications for Route 4 access to project while working with Vermont Agency of Transportation in obtaining permits for same. Conducted design, topo survey and prepared plans for all engineering aspects of project.
• Riverbend Marketplace, Townshend, VT. This project included a site analysis of existing water supplies and septic systems for a small community within the Village of Townshend. The combination of shallow wells and septic systems had posed a serious health problem for the community, which includes several small shops, supermarkets, plus several residences.
• Snow Mountain Village, Dover VT; 130-unit condominium development. Responsible for all aspects of site and utility design to include water, wastewater, storm drainage, and erosion control, plus state and Act 250 permits.
• Snow Vidda Development, Dover, VT; 56-unit townhouse condominium project at base of Mount Snow Ski Area. All civil engineering work, prime consultant for all local and state permits, feasibility, preliminary and final design, prime consultant for permitting.
• Suntec Forest Estate, West Dover, VT (Present). This is a 28-unit project in West Dover, Vermont originally designed by Robert S. Harrington, P.E. During 2008 the water system was upgraded in order to bring it into compliance since it had a problem meeting minimum contamination levels and especially tetrachloroethylene. The storage and pressure tanks were replaced and control house rebuilt. The design started early summer and the construction was complete in November. The Operation and Maintenance Manual and Source Protection Plan is also being updated.
• Tamarack Development, Jamaica and Stratton, VT; designed and obtained all approvals for 82,000 gpd wastewater treatment and disposal facilities. Feasibility study for water, sewer and storm drainage. Accomplished all design, specifications and plans for all civil engineering aspects of this 180-unit project; including roads, water, sewer, drainage, erosion control; coordinated all reviews for permits of same.
• Timber Creek Condominium Owners Association, West Dover, VT; complete road rehabilitation project. Construction and pavement project resulting in 2.5 miles of new roadway with parking for this 250-unit development, new drainage systems, 5,000 tons of pavement installed, landscaping, and grading around all units.
• The Woods at Killington, Sherburne, VT; 150-unit condominium project on 100 acres of land. Responsible for all aspects of civil engineering. • Weston Island Ventures, Weston, VT; performed all engineering services and attended all local and state hearings for this 18-lot luxurious subdivision. On-site community leachfields designed and hydrogeological evaluation performed.
Hotels
• Grand Summit Hotel at Mount Snow, Dover, VT; 300-unit hotel and conference center. Site layout and grading, water, sewer systems, roads, storm drainage, road and street design, all local and state permits.
• The Hotel at Sugarbush, Warren, VT; 210,000 gpd tertiary lagoon wastewater treatment plant and high rate subsurface disposal system.
• The Newton Inn at Quechee Lakes, Quechee, VT; 80-unit inn with a restaurant. Responsible for water, sewer, storm drainage and erosion control, and all local, state and Act 250 permits.
Municipal
• Town Garage Complex, Newfane, VT (early 90s). Assisting town from initial site evaluation through design, planning, budgeting, permitting, and construction.
• Dover Landfill, Dover, VT. Performed all engineering services and prepared plans plus obtained state approvals for extending the life of Dover’s landfill.
• Town Garage, Pomfret, VT (Present). As selectmen and engineer for town, responsible for upgrade with new MSGP regulations
• Town Garage and Landfill, Dover, VT (late 80s). Assisting town from initial site evaluation through design, planning, budgeting, permitting, and construction.\ Commercial
• Valley Business Park, Hartford, VT; conducted topographical survey, prepared plans, designed septic system, coordinated municipal water hookup evaluation, and completed plans and specifications for local and state reviews for a proposed 12,000 S.F. commercial building off Route 5.
Gravel Pits
• Ash Inc. Gravel Pit, Weston, VT (2006). Planning, design, local and state permits for 35 acre gravel extraction project.
• Fuller Sand & Gravel Pit, Danby, VT; obtained Act 250 permits in three months for 40 acre gravel pit along Route 7, three million cubic yards.
• Weston Gravel Pit, Weston, VT; performed all survey, plans and reviews for obtaining local and Act 250 permits for this 20 acre phased gravel pit along the West River. On-site water and sewer for 2,000 gpd to 8,000 gpd mound disposal systems.
• Town of Wallingford Gravel Pit (present); 400,000 CY pit responsible for all engineering and Act 250 permit work.
Schools
• Grafton School, Grafton, VT; all site layout plus water and sewer engineering for a new K-6 school in Grafton Village. On-site water and sewer and responsible for all permits.
• Thetford Elementary School, Thetford, VT; wastewater system upgrade, final design and construction engineering for recirculating sand filter wastewater treatment and disposal.
